Something is Rotten in the State of BHS

In my opinion, Kenneth Branagh's 19th century version of Hamlet was by far the best. I especially enjoyed the art behind how Hamlet was first introduced in the film. The way in which Branagh is able to capture the emotion when Hamlet speaks is incredible. Branagh makes a wonderful Hamlet. Also, the actors chosen to play Ophelia, Gertrude, Claudius, Horatio, and Polonius are all very suited for their roles. Each actor adds something to their character in their own way. In addition to the cast, the setting is also very impressively portrayed. The opening scene instills an eerie suspenseful aura. The dark night opposite the dim light castle gates paired with the music sets the tone for the film and the upcoming encounters very well. Though the other films were also impressive, it is Branagh's passion and explicit ability to believe and feel every word he says, or so it seems to the audience. Branagh’s superb acting ability along with all the other aspects of this version of hamlet are why I favor this film over the rest.
